Admin account is messed up since Catalina install

Ever since I downloaded Catalina to my MacBook Pro, my admin account has had trouble allowing installs. I can't download Adobe software because it says my firefall is blocking connection to Adobe servers. But my firewall is OFF. I set up a second admin account on my MacBook and it installed fine, but I still can't use the app on my main admin profile.

Then I don't have any explanation other than to point out the obvious: the use of any non-Apple "anti-virus", "cleaning", or "Internet security" products, including non-Apple "firewalls" can interfere with any number services that rely upon an Internet connection. Presumably you are not using any such junk, yet the Adobe message alleges that's the problem.

I suggest contacting Adobe to find out what's wrong. You paid a lot for their software and it's reasonable to expect it should work.

Please open Terminal and examine the content of that Mac's Hosts file. The Terminal app is in your Mac's Utilities folder.

At the Terminal prompt, type

cat etc/hosts

... followed by the Enter key.

Its output should more or less resemble the following:

iMac11:Macintosh HD john$ cat etc/hosts
##
# Host Database
#
# localhost is used to configure the loopback interface
# when the system is booting.  Do not change this entry.
##
127.0.0.1 localhost
255.255.255.255	broadcasthost
::1             localhost
iMac11:Macintosh HD john$

Is yours any different?
