Can my mac battery overcharge when connected to ultrawide screen?

Hi everyone!

I'm using the 2020 MacBook Pro for work. Due to Covid-19, I'm currently working a lot from home. I've created myself a nice desk setup so I can just plug in my Mac at home and use an ulta-wide screen (LG 38UC99). This widescreen connects to my Mac using USB-C so it also charges it. I've been worried as the battery is plugged in all day and it's not good for electronic devices to overcharge. I've been reading about this and apparently the newer MacBooks come with a system that prevents overcharging. When the battery is 100%, it should come down to 90% and start charging afterwards again. I've been keeping an eye on the percentage for a few days now, and indeed, sometimes the battery starts to go down again when plugged in. But I still have some concerns as the battery still stays at 100% for a few hours before it starts to drain again. I use the USB-C cable that came with the screen, but ordered the thunderbolt 3 cable supported by Apple itself as I don't really trust these other brand. It didn't arrive yet as I ordered it today, but already wanted to ask your opinions about this. Would this other cable make the battery go down again as soon as it hits the 100%? Are there other solutions? Or am I just too worried?

PS: I really like to have a minimalist, clean desk setup, and currently only have the single USB-C cable coming out of the side of my desk. So I'd really like to keep working this way and not connect the MacBook through HDMI as this would mean more cables.
