Siri remote with a d-pad.

Does anyone have a solution b/c the default siri remote is one of the worst engineered items to date. The touchpad is so finicky. We need a real direction pad with the siri voice option. Apps on the apple TV do not work well with the touchpad at all. I've had years trying to get used to this thing and it isn't happening. Anyone that has visited has hated it as much as I do. At this rate I'll be ditching it for the fire tv, and probably ditching the ipad on the next round of upgrades I do. Apple has fallen out of touch with good design choices over simplistic aesthetics.

Try changing the touch surface tracking to slow

Change Touch surface tracking

  1. Open Settings  on Apple TV.
  2. Go to Remotes and Devices > Touch Surface Tracking.
  3. Set Tracking to Fast to make smaller thumb movements move farther on the Apple TV screen. Set Tracking to Slow to reduce tracking sensitivity.

I'll try this. Whether it works or not, if Apple doesn't come out with a proper remote soon I'll switch to a 4k fire stick. Their remote is spot on in terms of function and doesn't look bad. You'd think with all the $ and cult following Apple has, they could create something instead of backtracking on function, making control terrible if the app you're using doesn't use Siri perfectly.
