I recently bought an apple watched that appeared fully functional upon obtaining it . When setting up the watch as new it asks for a former apple id that i do not have access to, Is there any way to fully reset the watch or bypass this step?

Again I do not nor do I have contact with the previous owner. Is there any other way to bypass the lock?
