Apple Watch asks for previous owner's Apple ID

I recently bought an apple watched that appeared fully functional upon obtaining it . When setting up the watch as new it asks for a former apple id that i do not have access to, Is there any way to fully reset the watch or bypass this step?

Hello T_romero!

We see you are having some trouble with Activation Lock being enabled on your Apple Watch. This article goes into detail about how that feature is removed: About Activation Lock on your Apple Watch

The previous owner will need to sign into their Apple ID on the device or remove it following the steps in that article.

We hope that helps! Have a great rest of your day.
