When adding a song to a playlist, the song suddnely stops playing and loses context of what album i was listening to.

I saw a thread about the same issue from back in 2016, and it's still happening in 2020. Are there any fixes ? Do the developers intend to fix this at all ?

Good afternoon Ama1997,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

It sounds like you are having an issue adding a song to a playlist in Apple Music on your Windows PC. What version of Windows and iTunes do you have on your PC? What is the source of the song you are trying to add? Is it from the Apple Music catalogue, or a song purchased online or imported from a CD to your iTunes Library? Try deleting the song and quitting iTunes. Then, restart your computer to refresh the connection to the internet. Launch iTunes and download the song again.

The resources below will help you address this issue:

Ama1997,

Thanks for sharing this additional information about your issue.

"The source I am trying to add from is an Apple Music Playlist"

It sounds like you are trying to save specific songs that you are hearing, rather than the entire Apple Music Playlist.

If that is the case, I would suggest downloading the specific song from Apple Music (or purchasing it from the iTunes Store if you wish to own the song.)

Then, add the downloaded song to the playlist you've created.

Add and download music from Apple Music or buy music from the iTunes Store

Create and share Apple Music playlists

"Save an Apple Music playlist

You can add any public playlist to your library, including playlists that you find in the For You section of Apple Music or playlists your friends send to you. To save playlists to your library, find the playlist that you want to save, then tap or click Add.

By default, the songs in the playlist stay separate from your main library. If you want to add each song in the playlist to your library, you can change your settings.

If Apple or the owner of the playlist adds or removes any songs from a playlist that you save, the saved playlist in your library will automatically refresh to reflect the updates."

Be sure to make a backup of your iTunes Library when making significant changes to it - Back up and restore your iTunes library on your PC

Take care.
