iCloud storage payment question

I have an email that says I need to update my payment method to keep my cloud storage. 1) Is this legitimate? 2) if so, HOW do I do it? It suggests my credit card date ran out. That is possible.

Be careful and check to make sure it's legitimate -- Recognize and avoid phishing messages, phony support calls, and other scams - Apple Support.
