Volume Icon stuck in middle of screen

I have a new MacBook Air, and the big grey volume icon is stuck in the middle of the desktop, and I can't remove. It blocks the middle of the screen.

Any idea how to get rid of the volume icon from the screen?

You can just reboot your MacBook Air and it should go away.
