I can’t add a payment option to my account. How to fix?

I am part of a family sharing group so the only payment option I currently have is the card that the organizer put. I want to add a new payment option to my account for my use only.


According to this support article (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201266) I should be able to change/add payment options by going to Settings > Apple ID > Payment and Shipping. However when I do this I get no option to add a payment option. I’m only given the option to add a shipping address and the edit button on the top right corner is greyed out.


I already made sure that my phone is updated so idk what else to do.

If you are a member of family sharing, the only payment method that can be on file is the organizer's card. Buy/redeem iTunes Gift cards to the account. Charges will be deducted from the account balance before the organizer's credit card is charged.


App Store & iTunes Gift Cards by Email.     


Gift cards redeem.    


Gift Card - can’t redeem.
