Unresponsive script

Please help?!

I keep getting an unresponsive script message.

It is

chrome://global/content/elements/browser-custom-element. js:357

Occasionally it is different but always ends in.js: plus a 3 digit number.

My Mac does not run very well at all. Just about everything I do causes a delay and the beach ball. Yahoo mail is a big problem.

Can I just delete all the .js files in finder? Yes, I had chrome but deleted it. My browser is Firefox.

I also used to use Safari but blue kai made it impossible to use. Any suggestions for getting rid of that also?

I sure hope someone can help me before I throw this computer through the picture window in my living room!

Thank you, BAMM

You are presenting two problems it seems.

1) a problem with some javascript program.

2) a slow machine.

Lets deal with the slow machine.

I'd run etrecheck. Etrecheck will analyze your

machine and software and generate a report. Post results here so

others can view.  Experienced users have found the reported

information useful when diagnosing problems. The proprietary stuff

in the report gets filtered.

Install and run

-- Download etrecheck.  Goto the  EtreCheck  download page.

The download link is at the bottom of the screen

-- Install etrecheck. Goto your download folder. Double click on

EtreCheckPro.zip

-- Drag the app to the application folder if you wish.

-- Turn on full disk access for EtreCheck.  This was how

macos used to work.  Do it for etrecheck not avast as in the

instructions.

    https://support.avast.com/en-us/article/Mac-full-disk-access

-- Double click on etrecheck to run.   The first five

runs are free.

Hello Bamm,

We know how important it is for your Mac to respond as expected no matter the web browser you're using. To ensure we're able to provide the best support are you only having issues with performance in web browsing applications, or all apps and features? You can also find some great tips on how to resolve performance related issues in the following article.

See how apps affect Mac performance, battery runtime, temperature, and fan activity

In reference to deleting Safari that is an app that is built-in to macOS, and isn't removable. If you're only having issues with web browsers do you notice if this happens when visiting specific websites, or all websites?

Have a great day.
