Touch Bar Freezzing

My touch bar says "Configure in Extension Preferences" instead of allowing me to use the keys which should appear in the touch bar. I have already customised my touch bar and have tried using the kill function in the Terminal app.

Does anyone know how to solve this? I am running the most updated software.
