clicked link in icloud email found to be spam

I received an email purporting to be from a known contact. It contained a hyperlink. The alleged sender sometimes sends links, so I clicked on it. It took me to a site advertising a magical medical discovery that was obviously false. I immediately closed the site. I did not enter any information. I immediately forwarded the email to apple.

Now what? How do I assure that I did not allow malware onto the phone? If I did, how do I detect and remove it?

How do I avoid future re-occurrences? On a PC I can hover over the sender of an email to see if the unseen part appears to match the displayed name, but I don't know how to do that on my phone.

Thanks
