all office 365 applications give me problems on my MacBook Air 2015. Should IU go to an Apple store or contact Microsoft?

Purchased MS Office From App Store Does Not Work on MacBook Air HELP.. I purchased MS Office 365 from the App Store and It does not work. Cannot call Microsoft you have to do the stupid chatting and wait for someone to call you I spoke with someone who could not help me and told me it was an Apple issue so then I requested a call from Apple and after 3 hours with a representative on the phone they had to refund my money. The issue is I need this software for school and I cannot afford to purchase another computer and should not have to. Has anyone experienced this if so how did you resolve it?

Appsotre crashes when I press back When I press the back button after viewing an app, App storecrashes. I also reset the machine and the problem persists. I am using a macbook pro 2019.
