page-numbering doesn't work
if I apply page numbering (by adding '1' in the box at the bottom of page 1) , all pages become '1'. what am I doing wrong?

Try this. Place cursor in footer then along the Top Menu >> click Insert >> popup menu below and choose Insert Page Number >> choose style
