Message of full storage appears when only 229MB used...

I have IPhone 6S for several years and it has always regularly given me notice that my ICloud storage is full and it can not do the backup.

It is quite annoying and I would love to get rid of these messages and also to backup correctly. I am not interested in paying for the space if I should get it for free until it really fills 5GB...

If I look at ICloud storage, it shows that only 229,3 MB of 5 GB is used. At the same time it refuses to make backup. I have chosen only few apps to use ICloud backup mostly for contacts and messages (no large ones, photos included).

What have I done wrong or how can I fix it?

Thank you in advance!

If your iCloud storage is full or you're getting that message -- Manage your iCloud storage - Apple Support. If you cannot backup -- If you can't back up to iCloud or restore from iCloud backup failed - Apple Support.
