iPhone XR's screen flickering, random artifacts, colored green, magenta etc

My wife's iPhone XR's screen started having problems recently. When she videocalls via Whatsapp the display starts having strange discoloration, artifacts, distortions and so on.

We tried resetting the settings, updating IOS and Whatsapp to the latest version, but no results.

I can't seem to find anything on Internet that is similar to this issue. Apple Support, please help.

Turn it off. Take out the SIM tray and check if the water ingress indicator is red.
