Control bar LCD options greyed out

Hi all, I'm trying to set some options for my control bar, but the section for LCD options is greyed out. I'm including a screenshot. Specifically, I'd like to use the CPU/HD performance meter, but although it is selected, as you can see in the screenshot, it doesn't actually show up. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
