Which settings will minimize buffering, especially when streaming on demand or recordings?

Speed has nothing at all to do with Bandwidth. Bandwidth is coverage. Please tell us:
- Approximate sq. footage of the home.
- How many stories does it cover?
- How many internet devices are in the home including computers, TVs, streaming devices, telephones, alarms, video surveillance, lights, HT receivers, thermostats, Alexa devices etc.....
ISPs like to brag about their speed however they never talk about bandwidth because they can't, everyone's home is different as far as size and what is in it. You should be using a tool like iStumbler (Mac OS) to measuring the bandwidth in each room to see if you have adequate coverage, not speed coverage.
