macbook pro usb-c ports stopped working
Hello,
My Macbook Pro (A1990) has ceased charging. In fact, all USB-C ports stopped working. I have reset SMC several times, as well as NVRAM reset several times. This happened a little while ago, which prompted me to look at the battery. It was bulging. So, I replaced the battery a few weeks ago. Everything was fine until a few days ago, when the new battery stopped charging and the external mouse stopped working. I tested with a different charger (from my work MacBook) and a different peripheral. No ports are functional now.
The system had been running hot before the battery replacement. Wondering if the logic board got damaged and is now presenting symptoms via the USB-C ports. Or, if the battery replacement affected the USB-C ports functionality - not sure of the board layout to know if the USB-Cs have dependency on the battery controller board. This system isn't that old. If I am marching toward a logic board replacement, I would not be too happy. This system also has the infamous keyboard issue (haven't sought replacement yet, as I mostly docked to an external keyboard).
Looking for advice as to the likely culprit. So, I can figure probability on cost.
