Cannot delete Honey extensions

I have tried to no avail to rid my MAC of the Honey app.

1. I've gone to Honey and followed there delete Honey forever instructions including inputting the "code" they provide (probably compromised my security)
2. I've dragged the app to trash
3. I've tried to delete the extensions via "Safari - Preferences - Extensions" and get the message that I need to delete the app before I can delete the extensions (the app is already deleted and removed from trash).

6. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I wonder if the app is truly gone when you delete via the trash method. It certainly isn't gone when you go through the site and follow their instructions to delete forever.
