I don’t want a covid update added in my phone can I opt out

you can turn off automatic updates.. Settings > General > Software Update > Customize Automatic Updates and turn off the switches.. but you'll be missing out on any new features and security updates


the update contains exposure notifications which you have to download an app and/or opt into. You are in complete control. There is nothing in the updates that will track you. Just owning a modern cell phone you are already being tracked/traced more than this update ever would
