Final Cut Pro Freezing often

My FCPX has been freezing constantly the past month or so. When it started, it would freeze when I would use Red Giant's Colorista to color grade my footage. I would try to make minor tweaks like exposure or tint, and I'd get the spinning wheel of doom for 5 minutes or more, and usually I'd force quit. I have tried clearing space, cleaning render files, and restarting the computer. Now, it freezes doing less than using Colorista. It is freezing upon opening. I am losing hope in this program and am considering switching to Premiere, which would be inconvenient.

These are my computer specs and my FCPX is version 10.4.9
