Ford Sync 3 and Apply Carplay issues

I know this has been asked a few times but I know some members of the community have been running into issues with Apple Carplay and the Sync 3 systems in Ford vehicles.

I purchased a new Ford Fusion a few months ago and I had problems when I would plug in my iPhone 7 (with Carplay enabled in the settings), it would be a hit or miss connecting and starting Carplay. I was browsing the multiple forums and mostly everyone was saying the same thing as a remedy - try different cables and update your systems, both the iPhone and Sync 3.

I've tried using many different cables but to no avail. I've verified my cables are working by connecting my iPhone to my computer and I have the latest software version on my iPhone and Sync 3.

I was about to take it back to the dealership and ask for help when I saw somewhere (on a different forum) that the Fordpass app might be causing the issue... Since I didn't really rely on the app to do anything, I figure I give it a try. I deleted the app about 1 week ago and driven the vehicle about 7-8 times so far but it has connected 100% of the time (*knock on wood*). There was one time where it was acting a little finicky but still connected and worked.

I wanted to put this out there in case if anyone else ran into this issue and wanted another solution, besides swapping out cables. Good luck!
