Loud fan

Hey y'all, my macbook air keeps overheating with the fan on super high but ONLY when I'm using Google Meets. It's very distracting - I'm a teacher and we use Google Meets for all classes, and I got this Mac specifically to up my online teaching game. Any ideas on what's going on and how I can fix this?

A lot of fan noise after Monterey update I recently updated my MacBook Air (Retina, 13-inch, 2019) to Monterey (12.3.1) and I'm noticing my fan is going insane mostly when I'm watching YouTube videos or using Twitch. I mostly use the Brave browser for those two websites but I've also tried Chrome after this fan issue and it's still an issue. Any advice how to fix this? Is this possibly a common issue among people who've upgraded to Monterey?

Macbook Air Overheating I have had my Macbook Air for about 7 months now and watching videos on the internet or even Netflix can make the fan be excessively loud. When I stop watching the videos it will cool down, and then when i restart it it starts again. It is almost too loud to watch my videos/panoptos. Is the macbook air always like this and will this cause issues to my computer? How do i make this noise stop

Are you using Chrome? Try Safari. However, videoconferencing is quite resource-intensive, and when your CPU/GPU are driven hard they'll heat up and need the fan to cool them. Do be sure to Keep your Mac notebook within acceptable operating temperatures and use it on a flat surface, not a bed/couch/blanket where the airflow could be blocked.
