Game ads have stopped playing

Ad’s are awful, but game bonuses depend on them. Suddenly 7 or 8 of the games my kids play have stopped playing any ad’s. It just acts like the device is offline, despite being online. I have tried accessing them on both my iPhone 11 (Updated to 13.6.1), and my 6th gen IPad (unsure prior update, but updated to 13.7 after issues started). I have not been able to access ads on either device since probably Friday.

Both devices have WiFi, and the phone has cell enabled on the games I tried there.

As far as I can tell, none of the games are connected, leading me to believe it’s something with my iPad and iPhone, vs the apps themselves. All the app’s affected are updated as well.

Any ideas?

Hi Herberkids3,

Thank you for posting here in Apple Support Communities. We understand that in-game advertisement no longer play on your son's iPad, and on your iPhone.

1. Please verify you did not opt out of specific advertising. These two links should help:

Opt out of interest-based ads in the App Store and Apple News - Apple Support

Advertising & Privacy - Apple Support

2. Next, it's possible the issue is cause by the wireless network you are connected to. I recommend trying while connected to a different wireless network. You can also try by turning off Wi-Fi and testing only with your cellular connection (if possible.)

To try with another wireless network, make sure it meets these requirements: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points - Apple Support

To turn Wi-Fi off and use your cellular connection, go to Settings > Wi-Fi, and turn the slider off. Be aware that this will use your cellular data until you turn Wi-Fi back on.

3. If you still have issues, sometimes apps will set limits to the number of ads you can watch for rewards. Reach out to the developer to see if this could be causing the issue: How to contact an app developer - Apple Support

Take care!
