Crystal (glass) material for Apple Watch Series 6?

Does the stainless and edition watch versions for Series 6 have a sapphire crystal? The type of glass is not listed in the tech specs. Can you also confirm the crystal in the aluminum series 6 watches, Ion-X Glass?

There are more young people who have an active life style with a limited budget (by far) than there are older people who have worn watches and prefer sapphire crystals. And that gap will continue to get wider. Fitbits, Garmins, Fossil, Swatch, Casio G Shock, etc all use glass, not sapphire.

As far as slowing down technology good luck with that.

I'm certainly not a "young" person butI hadn't worn a watch in a couple of decades before the Apple Watch came out. And I never owned an expensive watch. While I love the idea of an expensive timepiece that's practically a work of art that will outlive me, I can't imagine something like that ever being part of my lifestyle. I think hardcore "watch people" are likely to be disappointed with an Apple Watch.

All that being said, at Lawerence's recommendation, I paid the extra for the sapphire crystal as I figured I was more likely to scratch than shatter my crystal. Running, if you're doing it right, isn't a contact sport!

I’m a long time techie, Apple is doing a good job with going green and recycling. High end watches primarily do one thing, tell time, and really are more jewelry. Wearables are small computers on the wrist that can tell time (like the commercial says) but does much, much more.

When the Generation 1 watch came out and had the high end gold version I thought that was the silliest thing I’d ever seen, within a short period (compared to high end watches) it would be pretty much obsolete.

Just think what the world would be like if 20 years ago they froze any new technological updates?
