COVID-19 Updates

An API, by itself, does nothing. Not one thing.

The API, like the hundreds of other iOS APIs that are in iOS are part of the operating system. You cannot select which API(s) is on your devices. You get iOS, with all its APIs, include anonymous contact notifications. But without an App to use that API, the API and iOS do NOTHING with regards to COVID contact tracing.

You cannot do an iOS update without getting the COVID tracing part which is off by default so it can’t do anything without your input.

Get rid of your iPhone and don’t get any smartphone. All smartphones have it, including both iPhones and Android phones. Or just don’t turn it on - it’s an OPTION that you must select.

If you're getting COVID updates, you must have installed an App that is presenting those. iOS itself does not do that.

Buy a flip phone.
