Keynote Live not showing Presenters Notes

Please help!

I have a presentation this week and I am finding that Keynote Live is not allowing me to click the X key to show Presenter Notes. I have "Allow Mission Control, Dashboard and others to use the screen" turned on. This did work a few days ago, but now I cannot see Presenter Notes at all. In fact, when I click the X key they screen turns black and I am only able to select the Escape key to get out of the presentation. What am I doing wrong? Is there a known issue that I cannot find? Does Apple know about an issue if there is one?

Thank you!

Hello FAMFOBOS,

Thanks for that info and for choosing the Apple Support Communities. If we understand correctly, you are having an issue with using the Keynote Live feature and presenter notes. To help with this, please see the relevant steps in these Apple resources on Keynote for Mac:

Play a presentation over the internet in Keynote on Mac

Add and view presenter notes in Keynote on Mac

Play a presentation on a separate display in Keynote on Mac

Keyboard shortcuts for Keynote on Mac

Cheers!

Hello jdo_apple,

Thank you for taking the time to reply and for the direction. Unfortunately, I have already gone through all of these in the knowledgebase and none are correcting what I am now seeing as a bug in Keynote (v 10.1) when using Keynote Live.

I was able to successfully create a test keynote with the provided templates, run it on Keynote Live, and then select the X-key which did bring up the presenter notes in Keynote Live. I went back to my keynote (the one I created for my presentation) and went through the same steps. Selecting the X-key this time (as in times before with my presentation) only made my screen black and I was unable to see anything. My only recourse was to select Escape to exit out of Keynote Live altogether.

Thoughts?

Thank you, I will do that.

I did find through my own troubleshooting that the issue seems to lie with Build In Animation. For whatever reason, I had a three highlighted words that had a Build In with minor animation.

I turned off the animation for each > saved the file (iCloud) > ran Keynote Live without animation and was able to bring up Presenter Notes (clicking X key). I went back to edit the file and turned each animated word back on > saved the file again (iCloud) > ran Keynote Live and was now able to bring up Presenter Notes (clicking X key). Very odd, but clearing the animation and turning back on seemed to work. I will advise Apple Support that there may be a minor bug for Keynote Live.

My thanks for your attention on this.

Good health to you and yours,
