Is there a way to disable the App Library, so that I don’t have to see it at all? I don’t have many apps, don’t need them categorized, and don’t need to search them, so I’d prefer to just turn it off altogether so that I don’t see it if I happen to swipe right too many times. Thanks!

It seems like Apple has copied a lot of features from Samsung with the new iOS14 - e.g. widgets on home screen, app drawer renamed (in Samsung) to app library. I don’t mind having these new features in an iPhone but if they are to copy these features, at least allow the users to hide the app library just like how Samsung allows users to hide their app drawer.
Customizable hand held devices are a must. I'm going's back to the Pixel XL and will happily pay the premium for customization and ability to access hardware functionality like scanning wifi bands.

Even I don’t like that stupid App Library. It’s of no use. People like to arrange the apps as they like and not as Apple wants to, based on the categories.
i think the app installs for new apps may not be promising as most users are having their fixed likings towards a few apps and don’t try new ones. I think it’s done to put users into an illusion of thinking that they don’t have many apps and thereby browse the App Store more and try new apps. If this is true we’ll never get the option to disable that stupid thing.

That was my point. You absolutely may use your Home Screen page(s) just as you did with iOS 13 and completely ignore the App Library. All you have to do is not swipe past your last Home Screen page.

That’s not realistic. If I move my thumb upwards and even the slightest bit to the left on my last home page, the App Library starts to slide over.
On a device where everything is controlled with a touch or swipe, and that one’s full attention isn’t always able to be granted to how precise one is with said touches/swipes, I want the ability to permanently hide the thing.

Apple just gave you more control over your home screen than you've ever had with iOS. Is it perfect? No. But neither is Android.
You can put your desktop back to normal by long pressing the screen until it wobbles, like you would have done to rearrange your icons previously. Then click the dots at the bottom and it’ll bring up all the desktop pages that you hid. Just select the ones you want to view again, and it’ll be back to normal.
This is a kind of developing failure. Maybe somebody had to present a "brand" new idea in a meeting...it is unuseful, and causes privacy problems, if you hide an app somewhere deep, the library lists it also. Hope that this unwanted "service" will be possible to switch off very soon.
simply why have it if you don’t want it not swiping right is right but it’s annoying, and if you want to uninstall the app you have to go to the App Library for that, at least option for disable will fine

You only have to go to the App Library to delete apps that you have in the App Library. Anything that 's on a home screen can be deleted almost exactly the same way as before. You just have to chose to delete it from the phone, not send it to the App Library.
What a stupid function! Those who are not able to manage and find their apps in the home screens, will not find them in the app library. I have a clear orden in my home screen and don’t need Apple to do this for me in a logic, which is not mine and which cannot be changed. This app library is a joke!
