Hey since the update to ios 14 whenever i use haptic touch on an app or preview a txt message it makes a tick noise, anyway to turn this off?
iPhone XR, iOS 14
it is not the keyboard clicks
the feedback sound during long press supposedly belongs to "System Haptics" below "Keyboard Clicks" & "Lock Sound", I believe for iPhone with 3D touch, does not have that on/off option for "System Haptics"
For long press, it gives two kinds of feedbacks
I am glad I found this post. I just spent 20 minutes trying to understand why this started happening after ios14. Yes it is an audible click from the speakers, it does not respond to shutting off keyboard clicks or any of the usual things. The only way to shut it off is to put the phone on silent mode. The problem is that the clicks are LOUD. They do not respond to holding down the volume button either. This is separate from system haptics (which are vibrations).
Previously, long press on a link would result only in a haptic response—not a loud audible click from the speakers. Bug obviously.
I thought I had it off but no it’s still going. Keyboard off, Haptics off, vibrate off, silent mode on or off it still clicks. Super annoying. Im still on 13.5, I didnt update to 14 because I read there’s battery drainage. This started happening a couple days ago. Clickity click click click. This will probably solve my phone addiction and improve my posture.
Mine was off already, didn’t make a difference. Sometimes I’ve noticed that it won’t anyways made the click. Have no idea why.
Just tested it and again it is still making the sound, despite the recent update.
Hi.Please can anyone try to lock the iphone and tell me after the lock sound 2 seconds delay your listen a tick noise from the earphone???Try please to press any button on keyboard like you make a call press one by one few numbers and put your ear 👂 n earphones do you listen this tick noise after 2 sec of delay?I am sorry for my English.
went to the apple store today. tried out one of their personel's iphone 12 pro which apparently has similar issue (soft click sound when long press (haptic).
the volume when a notification came in suddenly jumped to the highest volume when doing haptic.
So sorry you're dealing with this. I have sensory sensitivity issues, esp with noise, and couldn't tolerate that click noise at all. It was driving me crazy and would have made me miserable, so I had to return my phone (iphoine 12 mini) and downgrade to an iphone 7. I really wanted the camera on the iphone 12 mini, and saved up money to pay for it, then couldn't keep it because of that darn clicking noise that cannot be turned off. I sure hope someone from Apple sees this discussion -- they need to fix this!!
hi, apparently they were not aware of the issue. one of the personnel did not notice that his iphone 12 pro had similar issue with mine since he put his phone in silence mode all the time.
they were shocked but that was it. my iphone 12 is still in my possesion now.
Thanks. I tried this and still get a high pitched click on an iPhone 11 pro with that toggle off although the lower pitched noise made by the vibration obviously stops. Also I think that setting turns all vibration off which isn’t ideal.
I have the same issue tick noise when I use Haptic Touch, it sounds when my iPhone 11pro is in only vibration and I just updated the iOS version to 14.5.1. The noise continues. Please let me know if you know how to fix it. Thanks
Hi - for me doing those steps (turning off vibration) does not remove the loud click sound on 11 Pro introduced for a long-press action when the phone isn’t in silent mode. It does turn off vibration which I would like to leave on.
I believe this may be a forced bug to motivate a new phone purchase. We know that Apple has crippled older phones to force upgrades. Perhaps this haptic sound thing is something they are doing to annoy people into buying a new phone. I can’t think of any other reason they would force a sound to play when a phone is on silent mode.
This would make sense if it was in older phone models, but it's in the very newest models. I bought a brand-new iphone 12 and had to return it and downgrade to iphone 7 even though I would have preferred a newer phone model
The tick noise with haptic feedback is really annoying, I literally can not find any way to turn it off
ya, is annoying, guess not many that off vibration feedback for the long press, thus, the feedback sound remain unnoticed
hope Apple provide fix in next iOS 14 update
It must be device dependant as on my iPhone X the volume is not that loud at all.
