Keyboard Repair (one key) on MBP 2017

I have a mid-2017 MPB and I've been having keyboard issues since 31 days after i purchased it (i was 16 hours too late to get a return!!). Im aware of the Keyboard Replacement Programme, however I'm unsure the Mac will qualify due to a damaged command key. The keys have always been sticky and during a routine clean the butterfly clip lost a connector (the tab bit that connects the upper part of the key to the base thats like 1mm long). I'm trying to get to a genius bar but currently Covid is making that impossible, and the guys online have said it could still be eligible.

IF it isn't, does anyone know the cost of repair? No Apple Care and out of warranty, but it's just one butterfly clip. Cant find any info as everything pushes towards Keyboard Replacement Programme. If it isn't worth it, i'll just sell as is because it's perfectly useable.

TIA :)

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

If it qualifies I would worry no further getting it replaced—The keys are not suppose to just fall apart.

thanks, i know they aren't but i know apple are terrible with cosmetic damage (which a key would come under in this case). I work for Samsung in repairs and while we wouldn't bat an eye at a small cosmetic issue like a half broken key, i know apple do and i'm not paying £££ for one little key when i can only get £400 max for the MacBook anyway :( i might chance a walk in tomorrow at the local store and hope they can take a quick peek
