As someone with hundreds of apps installed, I rely on spotlight search to launch them. Since I upgraded to iPadOS 14, apps no longer show up in the search. All I see are useless Safari suggestions or links to a website. This is a feature I rely on every day, and now it is broken. I can’t find any info except an unanswered question from someone using the beta. Please help; this is an urgent need!

I just did a Spotlight Search on my iPad with iPadOS 14 and it worked as expected.
After you updated, did you do a forced restart of your iPad? It's a good practice after every iOS update to Force Restart.
If you didn't, do this and see if search works as expected after you sign back in:

How many apps do both the repliers have in this thread. I believe it has to do with the number of apps in ios14 I have more than 2000 apps and it’s not working however my buddy who has less than a 100 it’s working fine. I’ve read one person post 999 apps is the error point more than that and it breaks.
I'm not sure what to advise then. It's working fine on both our iPad Pro 11, iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro Max.

I did the same thing drop down to 996 same issues so I’m guessing that the problem is related to likely a lot of apps and probably a particular type of app that is causing the issue within that large number of apps so essentially it’s a bug that’s going to have to be fixed because were talking about a needle in a haystack
I was afraid of that. Oh, well, at least my apps are much more organized now. But I hope they fix it soon. It’s still a pain to constantly swipe through all those pages. Good luck and thanks for your replies!

I wondered if that might be the problem, as I do have well over 1000 apps. I trimmed them down to 997 but still no luck, even after running a couple of restarts. Drat.
Hurrah! The problem appears to be fixed in the 14.0.1 update.
