Cracked screen

my iPhone 11 screen shattered from a small drop. Yet my protective glass cover did damage at all. What’s with that? I’ve had iPhones for many years & have never had a screen break. Is this a defect? Design flaw? For a phone this expensive I expected a little more durability - at least as much as my prior iPhones. Is this covered or do I really have to pay $300 for a new front glass?

Per the folks at Apple: AppleCare+ for iPhone includes up to two incidents of accidental damage protection every 12 months. Each incident is subject to the service fees listed below, plus applicable tax.

If you don’t have AppleCare+ or some other insurance, yes, you’ll get to pay for a repair (which’ll usually be a swap) or for a replacement with a newer iPhone.

Yes. I get it. But it shouldn’t break that easily. I’ve spoken to so many people who have the iPhone 11 and are having the same things happen. They’ve had iPhone for years and never had an issue and now one drop and the screen shatters. So bottom line is this phone was not made as well as others. Poor product as far as the durability goes. I don’t expect Apple to cover anything because Apple does not stand behind their products.
