Turn App Library off?
Anyway to disable the app library in ios14?
I don’t want it, my apps are already organized on my Home Screen.

The App Library is a feature only there for users who wish to use it, sadly apple has no way to disable the App Library at the minute but until a feature like this is added you can not swipe over to that screen, to get back home screens that have disappeared go into jiggle mode by holding an app down and clicking edit home screen and click the dots at the bottom of your screen and check or uncheck the home screens that you want visible.

You're making the most likely incorrect assumption that most people will share your opinion. Based on the small number of posts complaining about this, I'd say most people don't. It's unlikely that 95% of users have even figured out where the App Library is. Most people probably won't have strong feelings about it one way or another.

Yes, I’m curios. Waiting for 14.2 I have to admit that I just ignore the library. That does work for me but we’ll see what bugs get fixed next.,

Yes, very true. I don’t have many apps. I just choose not to use the page, as it is ar the end of our pages, I just ignore it for now.

I, on the other hand, seem to have downloaded half the App Store. Trying to figure out what folders to put them in was just annoying. I ended up with a lot of folders labeled "TBD". While I've submitted a few feature suggestions, for me, it works reasonable well.
this is to turn off badges.. That’s it. OP as well as myself seek an option to turn the The App Library off completely. My phone is well organized as is. I’m used to just infinitely scrolling to get to last page. I’d rather my phone stop me on my games tab then an extra page of cluttered apps I’ll never use.

He asked for an option to turn it off. Not to disable the function all together. I find it pointless myself and would like to have the option to turn it off. It’s clutter to me. But if you and anybody else enjoy it then you’d just leave it on if the option was ever given. Everybody would be allowed to like or dislike it and still be happy.
Yes, in perfect world we’d be able to pick and choose. Being able to use it or not would be a good solution. I truly just ignore that page but that’s just me. I just made the choice in settings to have any new apps download to home page and not the library, but I have very few Apps in the first place. All the stock Apps are already on the home page. I know though that some Users have things set up just how they want and aren’t looking for any disruption. I always study new updates before I do them to make sure I even want them but then again the most updated software is also the most secure. I hope another update comes out with a fix for everyone.
I was on chat with Apple today. I explained how I saved the last screen for a few extremely important apps and they were wiped. . They put my business apps in “shopping” category ,and my business printer in “creativity”. Don’t they know the apps are already alphabetized in “settings”????. I am so appalled that some outside enterprise made a decision on how I should categorize my apps. I actually think I may shop a whole different field( yep! a dreaded android). Apple rep told me that there was nothing to reverse this “upgrade”. By the way, my phone heated up so much prior to the iOS 14 update I thought it needed repair so the rep stated it most likely was because it needed the iOS update. So, essentially, if I did not update I would have destroyed the hardware in the phone.

WHY SHOULD I IGNORE something I think is intrusive after I paid over a grand for buying and using it?????
Let’s be clear here. No one said you should “IGNORE” it. I said I do. There’s a big difference there. Also I went on to point out that I recognize how this might be a bigger issue for you than me. It’s called empathy. If you don’t like it , do something about it. Advocate for yourself. This is not the place to do that. There are lots of ways to do that. Complaining does nothing. It doesn’t translate to action, it’s just complaining. We all have paid good money for all of our devices. Your not special there. You have no idea what issues I may or may not have. I was perfectly happy supporting your concerns until your response. I hope it all works out for you. The technical part of my response here should be considered my pointing out that complaining on this site is unlikely to help you correct your issue.

This really hits it! My mobile police patrol has been categorized under “shopping”.
Then you need to talk to the developer. They are the ones who choose the category for their app.

Really???? I tried this and it does not work.
Tried advocating for yourself ? Pamsicloud, results usually do not come at the drop of a hat. It takes perseverance and patience. If it doesn’t work one place try another. Here’s my technical assistance reply. You are unhappy with a feature of the new update. These updates are not customized. They are general, sent out to millions of Users. It would be impossible to meet everyone’s needs and expectations. This update was well announced and overall there was plenty of information out there about the features . This would have allowed Users time to prepare and adjust. One of the biggest features of the update was was the App Library. I prepared myself for the update for my own reasons. There will be continued updates and adjustments. I’m sorry this feature has caused you so much frustration. That’s a pain. Taking it out here is only going to create more.. you may have already used this Avenue but this might help more. I wish you the best.
No there has never been a good way to hide anything. I used to put things in big groups on a second page. You can also hide purchases on App Store and turn off Siri suggestions. It seems typically dictatorial off Apple that if you down load an app you should be prepared for the consequences of someone else seeing it.

How do I turn this off.
That question has been answered on every one of the ten pages of this thread: You can't turn it off.
It ruins my day everyday.
How is something so trivial ruining your day?
And I feel like I am being controlled.
How are you being controlled? You don't have to even look at the App Library if you don't want to. It had no effect on your previous app organization. It just added a page at the end of your home pages. It took nothing away, just added another option.
You can let Apple know how you feel here:
Then, think about the fact that you are fortunate enough to have the money to have an iPhone. If you don't have Covid-19, thing about how fortunate you are not to have that. If the weather is nice where you are, take a walk and think about the good things in your life.
Done, feedback submitted. Though in the decades I've used this feedback I've never received any affirmation it's been read. Hope springs eternal. While I'm waiting I'll simply not upgrade my other 4 or 5 (maybe more?) iOS devices.
Not providing an simple option to turn off such a feature creates suspicions regarding Apple's motives.
It's a feature that's clearly a nuisance. That's the point. No conspiracy just curiousity why a simple UX feature perceived as redundant is released as mandatory. Give y'all a thread and see where the trolls take it.

To you? I'll take your word for that. To me, no, it's quite helpful. Expressing a different opinion is not "trolling".
Apple has a very long history of operating on the assumption that they know what you need better than you do. This is certainly consistent with that.
