Turn App Library off?

Anyway to disable the app library in ios14?

I don’t want it, my apps are already organized on my Home Screen.

The App Library is a feature only there for users who wish to use it, sadly apple has no way to disable the App Library at the minute but until a feature like this is added you can not swipe over to that screen, to get back home screens that have disappeared go into jiggle mode by holding an app down and clicking edit home screen and click the dots at the bottom of your screen and check or uncheck the home screens that you want visible.

That was my opinion. Yes, they keep these links updated but they are not jumping to change things. Since this iOS14 was just released, my thoughts are they want people to give it a chance and are hoping we may possibly have a change of heart after the initial shock of a different look.

Well, you'd be wrong. Apple does change things in response to user feedback, though perhaps not as quickly as you would like. The App Library itself is in response to years of feedback from people wanting a different way to organize their apps. But no, they are not going to simply removed it after a month because what is probably a relatively small percentage of users don't like it.

What is likely to happen is that, as with other features such as Do Not Disturb that were rudimentary when first released, Apple will look at the feedback and make incremental changes to the App Library so that it will be more useful to more people.

It's good to see someone actually using and liking the App Library! :-)

I like it, too. I have way too many apps and it was too much effort to try to organize them. Do I think the App library could use a few tweaks? Absolutely. But, I hope Apple doesn't give it too many. The beauty of it is that it's simple. It reminds me a little of stacks on my Mac. My desktop used to be a mess. Now, things are at least somewhat tidy. If I want complete control over where my apps go, I've already got that.

Sorry Y’all, there is no need to explain or justify why you don’t like the “App Library”.

Bottom line- on your device, you should be able to do whatever you want to do and set it up to your liking. There are already far too many things Apple forces on the phone user/owner. And as far as it being part of an update- then give me a choice of upgrading or not - or upgrading the portion I agree with.

I personally hate it! I now have double app listings. I guess it’s time to back to custom Roms and control of my android - just root it and go!

I just did an update to 14.1 and I am very disappointed to see that the “App Library” still remains without an option to turn the feature on or off. This is surprising given the growing demand to include the option. While it’s understandable, acceptable and even inevitable that new software updates come with growing pains and oversights, it is unacceptable that these issues are not dealt with in a timely manner. Thank you.

Thanks. There are no posts above. I only see this thread. I’ll move to a computer and figure it out. A web search sent me here. I mistook it for communicating with Apple, not Apple users. Nothing on the page I was taken to say this is users only. I clearly would never post my biggest stress in life to a thread dedicated to whether or not the App Library could be disabled.

Widgets screen and App Library screen should be user choice. I don't want them. Someone else might. But dictating I have ot have them Is supremely annoying.

You buy a product. OS changes are wrapped up with essential security upgrades AND compulsory dictated changes to the look and feel. This is simply unethical. The two types of changes should be separately and users choose.

It shouldn't be confusing that Apple isn't here. All you had to do is read the Terms of Use you agreed to when you joined the forum (I know hardly anyone ever does) where you would have learned Apple hosts this forum for user to user support and Apple doesn't participate except to moderate posts which violate the terms of use we all agreed to.
