Turn App Library off?

Anyway to disable the app library in ios14?

I don’t want it, my apps are already organized on my Home Screen.

The App Library is a feature only there for users who wish to use it, sadly apple has no way to disable the App Library at the minute but until a feature like this is added you can not swipe over to that screen, to get back home screens that have disappeared go into jiggle mode by holding an app down and clicking edit home screen and click the dots at the bottom of your screen and check or uncheck the home screens that you want visible.

Hi Chris,

I have deliberated greatly on this and was questioning why It was giving me the ***** so much. What I’ve noticed in reading other posts on this that many people had pages and pages of apps. I don’t, two to be precise. A home page with the couple of main ones and the next page resembling the App Library (but in an order or grouping of my choosing) And call it fat fingers or what ever, I found myself constantly swiping one too many, ending up on the wrong App Library that was grouping apps in a way I would not.

Now if I could group the apps how I would, I could off load all my second page and use the App Library as it was intended and all would be fine.

I know it sounds trivial but forced change will always annoy the general public.

move got to say though maybe I’m coming round to the idea, just would be nice to choose the grouping.

I totally agree. It’s not like the App Library allows users to organize their apps. There’s no true logic in the way the apps are organized in the library. Right now, the way I have my apps organized on my Home Screen in different folder works better than the App Library. Modify the library and allow users to either be able to edit to suit individual preferences or just hide the library altogether.

I have always had only one screen and made sure everything is neatly sorted. I really dislike the App Library because one: it feels too androidy

two: I often swipe towards the left to kinda fidget with my screen

The App Library doesn’t really allow for me to feel happy and neat on my phone. I get the intention but it feels way to androidy because andriods have had this feature forever. I use Apple because of the kind of forced simplicity. I want that back.

“Sorry, I can’t let you look up that restaurant phone number...I don’t let people use my phone,” seems like an excellent plan.

That's always my response with people who can't be trusted not to go snooping through my phone, regardless of whether they're related to me or not. I offer to dial the number for them or look up whatever they want to know. I also don't let anyone rifle through my wallet if they ask to borrow money.

I don't understand why anyone is in this thread arguing the point. If you're happy with the app library then move along and go about your day. The question was "turn app library off?" Doesn't matter why, we don't like it, we don't want it, and it's freaking ridiculous that Apple puts in ANYTHING NEW without the "TURN THIS NEW THING OFF" option. Why would EVERYONE who has an iPhone want some dev's new boring idea? I'm sorry I updated to this iOS. Garbage.

“Dictatorial attitude.” That’s a great way of putting it (unfortunately). On the Mac, you used to be able to easily scroll through images and they would be a large size, but they got rid of it and now have something people can’t use (especially for a 13 inch screen - I will add).

Why not have the two view options available to choose from?
