Airpods (Gen 2) Won't Connect Or Reset

Recently as I was using my Airpod's (Gen 2) the left pod cut out and stopped working. To troubleshoot I forgot the connection with my iPhone X. When I tried to reconnect them the animation would not pop up. I again tried troubleshooting the problem by holding the back button on the non-wireless charging case. All that happened was a solid white light. I took each pod out and found that when I removed the right pod and the left pod was still in the case it would flash amber.

The Airpods have been kept in good condition and haven't suffered any water or drop damage.

In what way can I solve this problem?

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you're having issues pairing your AirPods due to an issue with either the left or right AirPod. You've come to the right place for next steps.

"If the status light still flashes amber, connect the case to power, close the lid, and wait 20 minutes. Then open the lid and press and hold the setup button again for a few seconds until the status light flashes white."
