Im getting an error that I cannot install watch os7 on my aw3 cause IT need 3.1gb free space. Aw shows I have 3gb now and nothing else to remove. No pics music apps etc.

Same here...literally just deleted every single app that I could on my watch (can't remove apple ones), there is no music, or no pictures stored on my watch and it's sitting at 3.0 GB out of 4.7 GB
Maybe if Apple allowed us to remove some of their unnecessary apps that are forced onto our watch
I guess this is one way to force people to upgrade 🤦♂️
I discovered 2x updates were being stored on the Apple Watch.
On the watch go to settings, general, usage.
click on one of the updates and click delete.
Restart the Apple Watch and try to update.
Good if that worked for you but the only update I see there is 7.0.1.
Watch finally finished updating sometime while I slept. So it took anywhere from about 5.5 to over 7.5 hours from start to finish. Crazy!
You’re watch is on 7, your Mac is on Catalina or earlier. You won’t be able to use your watch to unlock your Mac until you upgrade to Big Sur.
I was in the same situation. The unpair and pair again freed up garbage that was taking up space and the watchOS update installed fine.
unpairing and re-pairing was the only fucking way to get watchOS 7 onto a series 3. They haven’t figured it out?!?!
I had the same issue on the last update. I called and they had me unpair and pair again. Now I have the same issue again. Am I going to have to do this every time they post an update?

If you noticed, the download mb required is not the gb it thinks it needs. The only work around is pairing and unpairing right now. The developers did a bad job.
Agreed, seems like a horrible work around, or a way to just entice/force you to upgrade the apple watch to a newer model!
This is ridiculous, now each time on update I have to fully reset Apple Watch? Apple show fix the bug. Or this is a way to force you to buy new model?
This happened to me last time I did the update as well I don’t plan on uninstalling my watch every time apple does an watchOS update. Not happy.
Where are you Able to delete anything under usages? I can’t delete anything in mine.
Mine did not work using the unpair option :( I have 2.5 gb available and it still won’t download. I can’t delete anything else either. I’m so irritated right now!
Total crap...so every time there is an update, I have to wipeout my watch and lose all my settings including all cards in my digital wallet? Put more memory in these stupid things!
