black bars in my LG Monitor when used as an external monitor to a Macbook pro 2017

I'm using a LG monitor as an additional monitor to my Macbook pro 2017. But it shows black bars resizing the image to a smaller canvas. I already talked to LG technical support, tried some stuff but the problem seems to be in the IOS operating system.

It's been like this since day one. 2 weeks ago I updated to Catalina and solved the problem but today it started showing the black bars again...

Any Suggestions? Am I the only one with this troubleshooting?
