After ios14 update my iphone 11 pro freeze if airpods2 connected

I am also experiencing this issue to the point where my phone has crashed and restarted multiple times when attempting to play any form of audio while the Airpod Pros are connected. I do have an Apple Watch and this appears to be interfering with the Bluetooth of the Airpods, therefore I used the workaround suggested by others to disconnect the Bluetooth on the Apple watch, then reconnect the Airpods. The audio then loaded without issue and after reconnecting the Bluetooth on the Apple watch, it is still working. Albeit, this has been very frustrating and after seeing how long this has been going on for, we can only hope Apple addresses this clearly common issue.

The latest iOS update and WatchOS update seem to have resolved the issue. I had my Apple Watch, iPhone 11 and AirPods at the gym and forgot that Bluetooth was still enabled on my watch (normally it would have been odd because of this issue). Everything worked during my workout. It was only later in the morning when my MacBook unlocked with my Apple Watch (which was why Bluetooth had been enabled from the day before) that I realized Bluetooth was still on and I had used it earlier in the morning at the gym. I was extremely happy! Again, this was all after updating both my iPhone and watch to the most recent OS updates.

So I think I figured out how to fix this, I’ve had the issue for months. Go to Settings > Bluetooth , go to your AirPods and click the information “i”. Do the ear tip fit test. After hitting play on it, my phone weirdly realizes they’re connected and fixes itself. Works every time.

This worked for me, I was experiencing the same issue.

Go into the apple watch app within your iphone,

Click MY WATCH at the bottom left corner

Click on SIRI, and turn OFF listen for "Hey Siri"

I have a solution that worked for me:

I connected the AirPods to a different phone, forgot the device in said phone then reconnected it. It worked for me but give it a try.

Hello, I have the same problem, I updated my phone and ipad to ios 14.1, when I would connect my airpods pro to my ipad, it works fine but when it connects to my phone, it freezes up and it doesn’t play any music, but it shows that its connected.

what i did, I would put my watch first on airplane mode and connect my airpods to my phone. it seems to be the only solution around it. After connecting my airpods, i turn off the airplane mode on my watch.

I have an iPhone 11 and an Apple Watch 4. It wasn't until I went into the settings of my watch and disconnected Bluetooth that my AirPod Pros finally stopped my phone from freezing. Hopefully the next updates for WatchOS and iOS address this issue.

This seems to work, a major pain in the arse every time you connect your AirPods and I’m not sure it will fix everyone’s problem but turn off your Bluetooth on your watch before connecting your AirPods and then turn the Bluetooth on your watch back on after they’ve connected, maybe Apple can bug fix this ****!!!!!

I found a way to work around this.

• Turn off your Iwatch (Holding it and turn power off)
• connect your Bluetooth AirPods Pro
• Play your song or whatever
• turn on your watch.

The issue seems to be with people who have the Apple Watch. Which I have now been able to fix the problem by going to airplane mode on the watch with the bluetooth under airplane settings turned off and then connect my airpods. I just got the 12 Mini and this worked doing the same steps above.

I am still frustrated with apple that they haven’t fixed this glitch yet . What I have been doing is turning off the apple watch and connecting the airpods pro then playing something and turning on the cellular watch

iPhone 11, AirPods2 doing the same thing. Removed Apple Watch Series3 from charger, turned it off and then YouTube started working with my AirPods. iOS 14.4.1

So I finally got mine fixed. on the settings on my Apple Watch I went to airplane settings and made sure that Bluetooth was turned off under airplane settings so when you put it on airplane mode it turns off your Bluetooth on your watch and then you can connect your AirPods I’ve had no problems since. I hope this works for you.

Holy moly this has been driving me nuts for weeks, thank goodness for Google bringing me here.

Ive been doing the Ear Test workaround which although works it’s still sometimes painfully slow to get it working, but putting the watch into Airplane mode(with disabled Airplane Mirror) and the pods connect instantly.

i Have the same problem as well.,after reading all ur helpful comment,I tried something..switching off Bluetooth on my watch,AirPod works,then once it’s working ,switching Bluetooth back on the watch...dnt know how long it will last...worth a try...😁😁😁
