I've updated my iphone 11 pro to ios14. If I connect my airpods 2 to iphone all video/music applications freeze. If I turn off bluetooth the applications start working well.

I am also experiencing this issue to the point where my phone has crashed and restarted multiple times when attempting to play any form of audio while the Airpod Pros are connected. I do have an Apple Watch and this appears to be interfering with the Bluetooth of the Airpods, therefore I used the workaround suggested by others to disconnect the Bluetooth on the Apple watch, then reconnect the Airpods. The audio then loaded without issue and after reconnecting the Bluetooth on the Apple watch, it is still working. Albeit, this has been very frustrating and after seeing how long this has been going on for, we can only hope Apple addresses this clearly common issue.

Also have the same problem, it the Apple Watch that is interfering, you have to turn Bluetooth off on your watch in the settings. Then connect the AirPods to your phone. Unfortunately theres not a fix from Apple yet.
This did not work for me. The test came out with a good fit. But soon as I go to Spotify or Itunes, the phone freezes up and I can't play anything. The only thing that has worked so far is to turn off bluetooth on the Apple watch and then it will work as it should. I can turn the bluetooth back on once it is playing. Apple please fix this!
Do you have the Apple Watch? Because your solution did not work for me. The only thing that works is putting my watch on airplane mode (with turn off bluetooth enabled in airplane mode) then start my music then I can take the airplane mode off. Thanks for the suggestion, it may work for someone.
Go into your Apple Watch settings. In the airplane mode section unclick Bluetooth. Then put your watch into airplane. Open your AirPods and put them in and they connect straight away. Then change your watch back off airplane mode. You have to put it on airline mode briefly each time you want to connect but it’s better than turning your watch off.
Did you completely try resetting the AirPods to factory settings then re-pairing them?
Yes, I did. I tried reset my airpods, remove connection between iphone and airpods and connect again.
