I've updated my iphone 11 pro to ios14. If I connect my airpods 2 to iphone all video/music applications freeze. If I turn off bluetooth the applications start working well.

I am also experiencing this issue to the point where my phone has crashed and restarted multiple times when attempting to play any form of audio while the Airpod Pros are connected. I do have an Apple Watch and this appears to be interfering with the Bluetooth of the Airpods, therefore I used the workaround suggested by others to disconnect the Bluetooth on the Apple watch, then reconnect the Airpods. The audio then loaded without issue and after reconnecting the Bluetooth on the Apple watch, it is still working. Albeit, this has been very frustrating and after seeing how long this has been going on for, we can only hope Apple addresses this clearly common issue.
I turned the automatic ear detection off because someone suggested that. That didn't work. I did the ear size test and it was fine. But I will try it. Thanks

I don't have this test on the airpods bluetooth menu. Looks like it works only for air pro.
I am having the same issue too, already reset the Bluetooth connections and still doing the same thing. Any solutions to it or wait until apple fixes this bug?

These people are suppose to be the Tech Kings...why can't they fix this simple problem that just started happening in ios 14 as far as I know.
Please note that once the airpods are connected you can turn the watch off of airplane mode (bluetooth) and everything will work.
That’s great to know, but come on Apple. If this issue happened to my mother she wouldn’t be able to figure out how to finagle things around to work. PITA
how do i disconnect my watch though? when i go into my bluetooth settings it just takes me to the apple watch app.
