I have tried charging my phone and it says it won’t charge as lightening cable has got wet and to let it dry out, I only have 27% battery and worried about it not drying out and not having a phone, what’s my best option wait for it to dry out or take it to the apple store and see what they say?

I would suggest replacing the lightning cable that got wet if the cable is damaged by water. - if you have access to another cable I would use that in the meantime.
