No spatial audio on the iPad Pro 2nd gen?

Why is spatial audio not supported on the iPad Pro 2nd gen, when it was released 9 months after the iPhone 7 which is supported?

Spatial audio sounds great, but I will rarely use it on my iPhone. However on an iPad I would use it regularly.
