Apps not using full screen after upgrade to IOS 14 on iphone x

As the description states I updated my Iphone X to IOS 14 and now many app's don't use the full screen. I have Zoom turned off and have power cycled my phone. App's like facebook, Weather Bug, Chrome and many others have a gap between the top and bottom of the screen when in portrait mode.

I figured it out. Go to Settings -> Display & Brightness. Then go to the bottom to the Display Zoom. Change the View to Standard.

Whilst this answer is helpful it does not solve the problem. For those that want or need Display Zoom the sacrifice is that a large proportion of 3rd party apps don't recognise the iPhone X or later as an iPhone X or later and present an iPhone 8 screen.

Apple's wonderful support team suggests Reseting All Settings wasting an hour of my time re-setting up everything from Face ID to Apple Pay and all my cards etc etc... Alternatively they request leaving feedback. This is not a feedback issue. It is a case of Apple changing the way iOS14 deals with Display Zoom and Apple is not acknowledging that developers need to update a specific area of code that deals with how an app is recognised with Display Zoom in iOS14. There were no instances of this in iOS13 that I ever came across so the developers in the past were using the correct instructions within their app. Why doesn't Apple acknowledge this and guide developers on the correct code?

Instead they waste the time of their users and pretend that no one knows about that the issue exists at all.
