Bottom Row Dock Icons Reverse Order Themselves

I have an iPhone 7 Plus and after my update to iOS 14.0 my bottom dock icons (Phone, Mail, Safari, Music) reverse their order on their own so that they show (Music, Safari, Mail, Phone).

I've tried rearranging the order back to "normal" myself, but later I find the icons have been reversed again. I've also tried several reboots, but the issue persists even after rebooting.

I found this similar thread here with the same issue, but the thread was locked and I was prompted to start a new query.

I found a trick that helps getting them back in order without having to drag and drop them to the positions they should be in. If I notice that they have reversed, I flip the phone from portrait to landscape and back again while on the Home Screen, that usually makes them go back.

Seems to be an issue with the transition of the Home Screen on Plus iPhones to landscape mode, when the bottom dock moves to the right side of the screen.

Me too! And they will turn sideways and stick that way unless i shut my phone down. They will pop up “upright”—-until they go sideways again. Annoying as heck! Help!

I have this happen from time to time after install of iOS 14.1 ...Also the phone just gets stuck for like 5-10 seconds and apps won’t open.

Yeppers, mine is spinning in place they can be right side up, next thing you know, they’ll be right side down, together! it seems it’s only the phone and Gmail icon though?

The rotate to landscape and back again trick didn’t work for me. But what seems to have worked: Start in landscape, arrange your icons the way you want them, and then rotate back to portrait. No more moving icons!
