Why do I have to re-download files on iBooks every time I open the app?

Most of the books I have in the library are downloaded on the computer (through Itunes) but the ones that I downloaded from Google Drive keep offloading... I would really like an answer from someone who knows more about this... Thank you.

Moving PDF file to iBooks app Hey guys, recently I have this issue, when I save a PDF file from a website, it automatically saves in "downloads" folder . And then, when I choose "open in iBooks" it opens correctly, but after I exit the PDF file it disappears from iBooks. The strange thing is, that later I opened this same file from downloads folder (it's this iCloud one) on my iPad and it started reading from the point that I stopped on iPhone, but sadly I couldn't move/ save it to/in iBooks once again. When I added book to the iBooks app on Mac it automatically showed in apps on both devices few seconds later. Honestly, it's my first post here, because I can't find any solution to this problem on web and it's really annoying. Has anyone had this issue/ problem? Please help :( PS I updated all of devices, restarted them etc.

Books is suddenly opening all my PDF's. How to stop? Books is finding all of the PDFs on my iMac. I just want books to show the PDF files I add to books, not EVERYTHING. Because of this it is nearly impossible to manage my collections and select files to synchronize with my phone and iPad. I have looked and tried solutions already posted but none of them work. Changing which app opens pdf files does nothing (Preview is used for opening all my pdf files already). This is a very cumbersome problem for me. Hopefully someone has a real fix.

books wants to import all of my pdfs I would like to use Apple Books on my Macbook and iPad but on the Mac every time I turn on syncing it wants to import every pdf file on my computer. I do not want this. I only want to import the books and pdfs that I want to use in both places, not everything on my computer. Books preferences seems pretty limited,. How do I stop this? Thanks.

You can manage this problem by going to Settings > Books > iCloud Drive and turn it off but you have to download everything again... I hope this helps...
