FCP Crashes on Sharing
After operating normally for years, FCP crashes when I try to share to .mov. Erased the Library in HD-->Movies to no effect. Restarted computer, etc.

Thanks for your response. I deleted preferences to no effect. Ran Etrecheck but it will not check apps with the free version.
There is a misunderstanding.
You do not need the paid version.
For more complete information, you should give Etrecheck "Full Disk Access" (again, no need for the paid version for this), but the report is still useful even if you don't do that (but slightly less complete).
Run the report, and paste it here using the "Additional Text" button.
(*) To run with Full Disk Access, you have to do two things:
1) Grant Etrecheck "Full Disk Access" in System Preferences->Security & Privacy->Privacy
2) Turn that option on in the Etrecheck preferences.

OK, re-did the Full Access selection correctly this time. Results the same, and the "App" button on the left is still greyed-out. Clicking on "Solution at the top of the Etrecheck window takes me to the $17.99 option. I'm attaching the Report in Addition Text. Wondering if I should trash FCP and try to open an old copy from Time Machine.

Yes. Here are instructions on how you can perform this. Be careful not to do this without solid backups.
-----
Here is how I suggest you do a clean install:
1) VERY IMPORTANT - BACKUP! You are about to erase your system drive. Never do that without a backup - well, actually, you should have at least two... I recommend a Time Machine on one drive, and a full clone of your system drive in a separate one.
2) Download the full Catalina installer from the App Store. If the installer starts automatically, quit it.
3) Create an installer drive on a thumb drive, following the instructions here:
How to create a bootable installer for macOS - Apple Supportsupport.apple.com › en-us
4) On recent macs, you may need to authorize booting from an external drive, which may be disabled by default. You do this in "Boot Security Utility".
Information about this is available in this support document:
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208198
---- do not proceed further without a backup!!!! ----
5) Restart your mac holding the Option key, and select that installer disk to boot your mac
6) Use Disk Utility to reformat your internal drive as APFS
7) Quit Disk Utility and start the installer.
8) When asked, choose to migrate content from "another mac, time machine or drive".
IMPORTANT: elect to migrate ONLY user accounts; NOT applications, settings or other files
First, whenever the application crashes, its preferences tend to become corrupted, and that will cause it to crash again, so you should always delete the preferences after a crash, or whenever the application misbehaves.
To delete preferences, hold down command and option while starting FCP X and click Delete Preferences.
The application will start in a default state, and open an "Untitled" library. Reopen the library you were working on, set the preferences the way you like them, and try again.
If the issue persists, Please run Etrecheck and post its full report here. Use the "additional text" button and paste the report into the text box.
Thanks for your response. I deleted preferences to no effect. Ran Etrecheck but it will not check apps with the free version.
I suppose I will have to buy the $17.99 advanced version? Any other approach?
My normal troubleshooting voodoo: Remove all nonessential peripherals, reset SMC and PRAM, safe-boot, boot into Recovery mode and check Disk First Aid.
Additionally try to remove any suspicious 3rd party system, FCP etc add-ons, delete and re-download FCP and command-option launch it. Try in another user account or in safe-boot mode.
You have a number of very old system extensions, which probably are not working correctly on your OS. You also seem to have remnants of Intego software.
You should make a full backup, erase and install, and then migrate your accounts, but do not migrate settings, applications or “other files”. Install fresh copies of the applications from the App Store or the developers websites.
Also, here is the Problem Report from the FCP crash itself. (attached). I can only add a fraction of the total readout.
Sorry, when you say erase and install, do you mean the entire HD? Not clear on this.
