Apple TV freezing after update

I made the decision to buy nothing from Apple as fare as DVDs and music. But over time due to convenience I have.

I just did that again, and bought a music dvd. Guess what ?...it stops and start just like the movie(s) we rented last weekend.

As I type it happened three times. A 5, 10, up to 15 second pause where the screen freezes. Then sometime it does a speed up thing, it fast forwards to catch up.

We pay for this and we can not get the content we paid for off Apple in a way we can use it independently.

I'm setting up my own NAS sever, with a media sever and will buy all my own copies at Walmart or where ever and stream it to our home TV or computers. Will only use Apple TV as last resort!

Update: The green pixelation issue is gone now. I checked several videos which had it before. Since it got fixed somehow without an update from Apple, I assume that it was a problem with the encoding of the streamed content from YouTube.

An Apple Care rep told me today that this issue is presently under investigation. ~k

factory reset has not resolved the issue

ROKU works much better and has more to offer for less price! No comparison!

Downgrading something in order to “work” should not be an option!!! Apple should make an update and restore the previous working settings of the device automatically for all its customers.

Really apple?
