WatchOS7 update problems

My series 3 completed an auto update overnight to Watch OS7. Today it has shut itself down at least 3 times, locked itself while on my wrist about 4 times, failed to load complications on multiple faces (weather, activity rings, date etc), disconnected from my phone at least twice. It has also dropped to less than 50% battery in about 8 hours, normally it is still in the 80’s. Is anyone else having these issues? This has been the buggiest upgrade I have seen.

Hi everyone, I just dropped off my MacBook Pro for warranty service and asked the "Genius" who was helping me about the

Watch OS7 7.01 Software Problem.... He actually acknowledged the issue and said they were working on a fix for the next Software update release....

For what it's worth, mine seems to have settled down since returning from holiday and being stuck in the house mostly on wifi.

That to me suggests it is 3G/Wifi transitioning related as someone else also surmised early in the thread.

That was on 7.0.1, I've just updated to 7.0.2 this morning and I can now add my c/card to wallet which seemed be broken for me previously?

Updated to 7.1 beta 3 overnight. Too early to know if this will help. I may have to wait a day or two to make an assessment. I sometimes go all day and only have one reboot. Other days I have at least 3 or 4. No clear associations, but it does appear that leaving home may be a trigger of sorts. I never reboot immediately after leaving home but usually an hour or more later. On the other hand, I have had days when I am in and out of my home several times without a reboot. My last auto reboot was yesterday while I was driving to the grocery store.

Has anyone yet had enough experience with the beta 3 to give us follow up?

common apple.. fit it now. You still have series 3 in your sales lineup.. why you want to have a negative feedback of lined up product..

I updated my Watch 3 to 7.0.2 a few days ago. The problems remain. When I leave my home and our WiFi, the Watch repeatedly locks on my wrist. It's also locking, with less frequency while at home, but it it does happen. It rebooted also today, as it was trying to load Weather.

My iPhone 7+ is running 14.0.1

So disappointing. One of my favorite devices has become totally undependable. And still no word from Apple. Not a great way to encourage me to buy a new iPhone, even though I do need one. No way I'm putting money into another Apple device until this issue is addressed and fixed.

Has anyone tried to just turn off WiFi on the watch? I have too have having the reboots and notice the patterns related to WiFi, although my observation is when coming into range of a open WiFi area such as a store is when it occurs, not the leaving of connected WiFi areas. I have reboots occur when traveling country roads that don’t have anything resembling WiFi. My understanding is the Apple Watch 3 should be functional without WiFi and just use Bluetooth. The only thing that will not work is WatchOS updates with this setup. To turn off WiFi look on the watch in settings under WiFi. An interesting benefit is things appear to load faster over Bluetooth (emails, news apps, etc.). Since I have tried 7.0.1, 7.0.2, wipeout my watch and then pair my watch without any impact on the rebooting, I figured I will give this a try.

I installed 7.1 beta 3 last night. I’ve worn my watch all day with no reboots so far. But I didn’t leave my home today. Most of my problems seem to occur when I am away from home. So not much of a test yet. Tomorrow I will be driving my car which seems to be when most of my reboots occur. I will report back in 24- 48 hrs. I guess you could say I am cautiously hopeful.
