Plug-in Headphones don’t work after ios14 upgrade

Since downloading ios14 for an iPhone XR the plug-in headphones no longer work. They work on other devices and the power lead still charges the iPhone so the port also works. Any ideas?

Tried that the day of the update. Didn't work.

Ok, I have found out a few things that's going on...

I plug my headphones in my tablet.

I can hear the audio coming through them when the mic is off. Once I turn my mic on, my audio NO LONGER WORKS with my headphones. The audio is being played through the speakers of my iPad.

Everything worked fine before the update.

I was able to use my mic and listen through the audio of my headphones...

After the update, I can no longer use my mic and listen to audio.

I use the iPad to play PUBG, I can not use my mic while listening to the audio and sounds.

Thoughts?

Ok, thought that having a third party headphones set would be an issue. So I went out and purchased Apple's EarPods Headphone "PLUG IN" version... Still, it's not working.

Mic is not disabled when I plug my headphones in. It was before the update, now after updating, mic is NO LONGER DISABLED when plugged in.

Apple, please check into this. It worked before, now it's no longer working.

When speaking on the tablet with the headphones plugged in, the user on the other end hears scuffing sounds on the other end due to the mic issue.

Hi!

So, I had this problem too. Are you using an adaptor? I've managed to source a pair of lighting USB headphones that don't have the adaptor, and they do actually work in my phone.

I took my phone in to my local Apple store, and they couldn't find any problems with the hardware, so I think the new update just doesn't register the software for the adaptor which is why it won't play anything through headphones that require an adaptor.

Obviously I could be wrong, but my adaptor works in other phones, so it's just my phone on iOS14 that it doesn't work for.

I am having the same problem using an adapter. The headphone and mic weren't working for any sound apps or Music. I then opened my Apple TV app and noticed the sound bar was down to 0 there. When I turned that up, it seemed to release the volume for all my other phone sound features.
